Position Summary:
Stratos Solutions is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering) Modeler to support the government in managing complex software development efforts. This role involves providing systems engineering support throughout the systems life cycle, including development of CONOPS, requirements capture, capability delivery, testing, and operational transition. In addition, the role requires building and maintaining MBSE architectural models, as well as collaborating across the organization to capture and implement model updates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide end-to-end systems engineering support, ensuring capabilities align with mission objectives and meet stakeholder requirements.
- Develop and refine Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) to define system use cases, goals, and operational scenarios.
- Capture, analyze, and manage system requirements and traceability throughout the development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with software developers to ensure capability delivery meets defined requirements and user needs.
- Conduct and support system testing and verification to ensure capabilities meet performance and functionality standards.
- Manage the transition to operations, providing support during initial deployment and operational phases.
- Build, maintain, and refine MBSE architectural models to represent system designs, requirements, and interfaces.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to capture updates, incorporate feedback, and ensure models reflect the latest system configurations.
- Develop and maintain model artifacts such as system diagrams, sequence diagrams, and architecture views, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and best practices.
- Support the government in assessing model accuracy, addressing gaps, and driving continuous improvement of MBSE processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 8 years of experience in systems engineering, MBSE, or a related field, with a focus on complex software development projects.
- Expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering using tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of systems engineering processes, including requirements capture, design, testing, and operations support.
- Familiarity with architectural frameworks such as DoDAF, UAF, or SysML.
- Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to deliver technical solutions.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with government acquisition processes and mission-critical systems.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and integration with MBSE.
- Experience working on software systems for space, satellite, or defense-related missions.
